No that house is in LA

The scene where she stares at his face as he’s carried off in the police car, she finally found out who the "stranger" was. The way it was filmed, though, made me feel as if I should have recognized him. Was it her father? The father of the children? Or was it just some killer guy, and they filmed this scene as some sort of emphasis effect, and there is no crazy twist at all?

When I first watched it, I thought it was her father but it’s not. It’s just some lunatic that likes killing people.

I recently watched the movie Orphan. And I’m not sure, but I think the house in that movie was the same house used in When a Stranger Calls. Can anyone clear this confusion up for me?

i have no lagit proof but i am like 90% sure that it wasn’t. they don’t usually just re-use houses like that for movies. the one in When A Stranger Calls had a lot more windows and was surrounded by much more trees and on a lake. In Orphan, it was just near a pond. also, the driveway in When A Stranger Calls had a gate and it was longer. In Orphan, there kinda was no driveway, you just drove up and you were there. I think the house in When A Stranger Calls was bigger, too. Like i said i have no verified proof but i am almost absolutly positive that they were filmed in different houses. Also, they use a lot of just plain, old sets designed to look somewhat like a room or area of the house and film certain scenes in a studio instead of the actual house.

I could almost swear I saw her in When a Stranger Calls.
It’s the bonfire scene and she’s the cheerleader dancing with a guy. You only see her for like 3 seconds, but it’s pretty close and clear enough to see her face.

ok so if the killer is calling from inside the house the whole time than what is that creepy shadow in the guest house? and do you know any other thriller movies like when a stranger calls? im really into thriller and suspence movies! oh also they would need to be recent movies like starting from 2003 if that makes any sense. no gore!!! and my last question is what did you think of when a stranger calls?

Black Christmas originated that concept of the killer calling from inside the house.

I want to watch either this or One Missed Call for a movie night at my house. Are either or them worth seeing? I thought When A Stranger Calls looked really good. Please answer honestly. Thanks.

it depends. both of them were good movies but..
if you’re normally in to chick flicks and stuff, then i would suggest when a stranger calls. it’s one of the less scary horror films and it’s not gory or anything
but if you like horror, then go with One Missed Call. personally, i thought this one was A LOT scarier.. :S
