Whats a good tagline for a body-image poster?

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

I need your help!
I want the tagline to be something like "Don’t let the media tell distort your perception of beauty" but better :p
basically saying dont let the media/magazines make you feel ugly, etc

Any ideas?

It depends on what is on the poster! Perhaps something like: "Rock YOUR Body!" or "The media doesn’t show true beauty, look at yourself, around you, instead." The goal is to make people feel good, I suppose, so keep that in mind!

I am terrible at this….lol

How is my screenplay’s logline and tagline?

Saturday, December 12th, 2009

I wrote a screenplay and it finished 11th in the Slamdance Screenwriting contest. Now I want to test it out in the market. How Is my tagline and logline ?

Tagline: Not all true stories are inspirational.

Logline: The lives of two paranoid detectives and a teen dropouts lives intertwine in fear after one is suspected of a rape within the corrupted LAPD.

Actually, it doesn’t work for me because it’s not clear on what the story is. Is one of the detectives accused of rape or did the dropout see something they shouldn’t have? And if rape is the key issue, should you mention the sex of the dropout? Labeling the entire LAPD as corrupt also not a good idea as it pushes a bias that might turn off an exec to reading the screenplay. I’d be more specific. Make it a corrupt department or a corrupt individual. Because to be honest, slapping all cops with the same brush is getting a bit old.

I’m a professional and produced screenwriter.

What is a good tagline I should put on my babysitting flyer I’m going to pin-up in church?

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

I need a really catchy phrase, or at least one that will make adults considering looking into my services. I’ve trained a lot. I’ve worked with Red Cross, and have attended babysitting trainings, plus there have been a lot of kids in my family in general. So what would show the parent that i care about there kid and draw their attention at the same time? What would a tag line like that say?

Well, the issues that a parent worries about are safety and having a positive experience, in general. Since you’ve taken the Red Cross training, you could do something like ‘Providing a Safe, Caring Experience with a Healthy Dose of Fun" Not quite that, but you get the picture. :)

Is the line "serve, protect, defend" a registered trademark, motto, tagline (or anything of the sort)?

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

I’m trying to see if this tagline is already taken somewhere?
Thanks for your help.

Go to http://www.uspto.gov
Click "trademark" on the lefthand panel. There you can search through "TESS" for trademarks. Try your keywords in different combinations to see if there are federal registrations.

Trademarks, though, are acquired by USE, not registration. And if someone else is using the mark in commerce for the same or similar goods, they have priority, and they can prevent you from using the mark in commerce in the same geographic area that they’re using, plus their "zone of natural expansion."

If you’re really going to use this mark for a business, contact an attorney and have them do a comprehensive trademark search. You pay a few hundred dollars up front, but it can save you thousands down the line.
