What is the weirdest thing you ever did in a cinema?

Saturday, January 16th, 2010

I’m just wondering.

Two years ago, when I was eleven, I remember screaming out SEX at the top of my voice in the cinema when I thought things were getting really quiet.

And a few days ago, when I watched New Moon (horrible movie) the Aro dude took Edward’s hand instead of Bella and I said "OMG THEY’RE GAY!"

1. I made the loudest burp I ever made when I was five years old in a packed cinema.

2. I kicked a girl in the back of the head while I had my feet up and there was a scene.

3. I was watching ‘New Moon’ and I couldn’t stand the indian guy with no shirt so I said "Get a shirt, you hippy" louder than I intended and for the rest of the movie Twi-hards kicked me hard in the back of the seat.

4. I fell asleep during Twilight and when I woke up everyone was really mad – I was snoring.

5. I got up and said my friend had died in his seat – the movie was stopped; the paramedics and his parents were called and I got fined $150 for causing the public to panic.

6. I fumbled my popcorn and it fell all over a four year-old next to me.

7. I ‘dropped’ cheese all over this biotches head.

8. In a mess I threw a rock at the screen and it ripped – I had to pay a few hundred for that.

9. Found out my best friend was making out with the wrong girl – called the girl a slut and turns out she was a red belt in Karate.

10. Insulted a fat person in front of me; fat person started crying and I was kicked out.

11. My best friend harrassed an usher; I told him to back off – he grabbed a five year-old and threw the kid at her (no joke). One of the funniest moments of my life.

At the cinema, wheat does it mean when a movie is digital?

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

it says it on my local cinema and im just wondering what it means..

some on the showing time are digital and some are not.

It means they don’t use the actual movie film like other projectors do. The picture is clearer because there is no film to get dirty, scratched or torn.

If I buy a home cinema system, can I still use my current dvd player with it?

Friday, November 27th, 2009

I wanted to buy a home cinema system but don’t know a whole lot about them. I have a new multi region dvd player so I wondered if it’s possible to somehow still be able to use it with the surround sound?

Just make sure the new system has at least one s/pdif AUX input (coax or optical), so that you can connect the digital audio output of your old player.

why dont the 3d glasses i got at the cinema work on my tv?

Sunday, October 25th, 2009

I got some 3D glasses at the cinema when i went to see cloudy with a chance of meatballs in 3D. I then bought a 3D movie and game but the glasses don’t work when watching 3D stuff on my T.V; instead i have to use the rubbish red and blue ones.

Well the glasses you got at the movies were made especially for watching that and other "Real 3D" movies. They don’t work for anything else.

Is the Apple Cinema computer screen which is around $800 any better than the typical monitors?

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

An HP 24 inch glossy monitor is about 300 bucks….

so is the Apple Cinema just another piece of overpriced hardware?

It’s overpriced hardware with a purpose– The 24-inch Apple LED Cinema Display is designed specifically for their miniDisplayPort-equipped Macbook laptops, which is why it includes features like a built-in iSight webcam and Macbook magsafe power adapter. It will not work with any other brand of PC (because nobody else uses miniDisplayPort).

So if you don’t have a newer Apple computer (with miniDisplayPort), don’t even think about getting that monitor. It will not even work with whatever computer you are using.

Personally I like the Dell 24-inch LED display. http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/Monitors/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=bsd&cs=04&sku=320-7956 It doesn’t have a webcam and isn’t designed for a specific laptop, but the LED-backlit panel’s image quality I feel is comparable to the Apple LED Cinema Display, and it has standard DVI and VGA inputs for use with any PCs. The Dell LED display costs $300.

I’d get the Dell rather than an HP (HP doesn’t have an LED display available yet).

Will you watch a movie alone in the cinema?

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

I do it all the time and I find it no hassle, straight buy ticket and watch the film, no need to wait here and there, so relaxing!

On the other hand, my friends think that watching movie alone is sad. -.-

What do you think? And will you watch a movie alone in the cinema?

I’m hoping to get to one this week and I KNOW I’ll end up going alone because no one else I know wants to see it *sobs*….can I help that I like chick flicks???!! lol

It doesn’t bother me if I go to the movies by myself, but I must admit, I much prefer the company of someone else being there with me to enjoy it.

One big bonus – by going alone, you don’t have to share the popcorn!!

How do they get cinema screens into the cinema ?

Sunday, September 27th, 2009

How do they get cinema screens into the cinema ? .. Theyre so big .. so do they build around them or do the screens come in peices lol ?

Thanks in advance
SlimShayD

Screens are fabric (usually acoustically transparent). They roll up to get in and unroll and stretch to a frame to install.
